Jennifer Doudna launched the Danaher-IGI Beacon for CRISPR Cures with Danaher Corporation in January 2024. This collaborative research center, based at the Innovative Genomics Institute (IGI) at the University of California, Berkeley, focuses on developing CRISPR-based gene-editing therapies for a variety of diseases. The goal is to create platform approaches that can be modified to address hundreds of illnesses, while Doudna oversees the center's translational and clinical research to simplify and standardize development processes.
